Named after one of their pet sheep, No43 is a haven of decorative antiques and vintage interiors sourced and renovated by husband and wife David and Gaynor Prior. Gaynor is the buyer, simply buying items she loves and having quite eclectic taste. Coming from a theatrical background as an ex wigmaker, she has a keen eye for design and history. David is the practical one, bringing the stock back to life and being from a ‘Rock n Roll’ lighting background, having toured the world with various bands, he can pretty much re wire anything. No43’s stock varies widely from 18th century furniture, chinoiserie, vintage posters, a large selection of lighting to mid century and vintage Indian items. Throw in a selection of hand picked curiosities, art and soft furnishings and you have No43…
Black Cat Distillery
The inspiration behind Black Cat Gin’s recipe development fuses traditional techniques and Southern Asiatic and European botanicals with hints of Africa to create modern and elegant flavours. Black Cat tie together these cosmopolitan influences with water that runs through the Lakeland fells which contains the very soul of the Lake District. The use of the finest ingredients in their contemporary distillery gives Black Cat Gin the cleanest flavours which bubble and combine in their shiny copper pot still. It is twice distilled in the thumper and then condensed to produce the sparkling flow of ginny ambrosia.
