Christine Longmire (Morton) - Landscape & Animal Artist
Christine grew up on hill farm, in a quiet corner of the Lake District enjoying drawing and painting as a hobby in early childhood. Upon leaving school Christine worked on the family farm where her interest in painting cattle, sheep and horses developed. Working mostly in gouach, Christine's passion for the animals and their surroundings shows through in depth and detail, resulting in beautiful, life-like images.

Alongside Christine, in the gallery, you'll find work by Jenny Handley. Jenny studied at Leith School of Art in Edinburgh and then at 3D Design in Newcastle. Jenny works with a variety of media, preferring to use acrylic paints and inks, enjoying the spontaneous nature of the medium; acrylics allow the freedom to develop the paintings while keeping the colours fresh and bold. Jenny takes inspiration from many sources including the countryside with the character and charm of it's many inhabitants. Jenny has exhibited in London, Cumbria, Edinburgh and the Highlands and was recently selected for the RSA Summer Exhibition.
