Welcome to the world of Tempting Light Photography.

My name is Mike Jennings, born in 1963 I have lived in various parts of the UK while growing up and in my early working years. When the time came to settle, I made my home in the beautiful Eden Valley verging on the English Lake District National Park, since 1987 this has been my back yard.

Here at Tempting Light Photography the majority of my work is produced on film both in colour also black and white using three hard working Leica cameras along side a Mamiya medium format kit. I have recently started using a Canon digital SLR .  My preference is still with film, but whatever medium I use my aim is to get the finished photograph in camera, painting with natures light reproducing the conditions of the day as near as possible. My work not only covers Cumbria as a whole but also other timeless landscapes in the UK, Europe and some further a field.

A new beginning

The Lake District has always been well known for it’s arts and crafts movement. Today we carry on this legacy and to that end the new Tempting Light gallery is to be found within the 700 year old Brougham Hall near Penrith. Why not come and visit, meet the photographer and view the stunning collection of prints and greetings cards, mounted and framed editions together with a small selection of high quality work produced by other Cumbrian Artisans.
