BROUGHAM ALE 3.9% gently hopped with aromatic goldings, an amber bitter proving a tremendous hit. The beer takes its name from Tirril Brewery's home in Brougham Hall, England's largest country house restoration project. Here we have re-occupied the 1823 brewing rooms alongside other craft activities. The coat of arms on Brougham Ale is reproduced with kind permission from Lord Brougham. Available in 4.5 - 9 and 18 gallon casks. JOHN BREWSHER'S BEST BITTER (3.8%) Standard Best Bitter. Midly hoppe, nut brown coloured. Good session ale. Named after the Landlord and Brewer at the Queen's Head in the 1930's. CHARLES GOUGH'S OLD FAITHFUL (4.0%) Light golden, aromatic and refreshing beer. Tirril's best selling drink. Named after the hapless Victorian traveller who fell off Striding Edge in Helvelyn. THOMAS SLEE's ACADEMY ALE (4.2%) Tirril's darkest bitter. A very traditional British ale with three hop varieties and full bodied character. Named after the famous Tirril Maths Academy.
